Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand. It utilizes clinching techniques and stand-up striking with elbows, knees, punches and kicks. A Nak Muay is a practitioner of Muay Thai whose life is devoted to training and fighting. Training can start at 4 years old (or younger), and some fighters have had over 400 fights by the time they retire. After their fight career is over, becoming a trainer is one of the few options to earn money. Some trainers continue to fight depending on their age and health.
